In preparation for the season ending and to give us something to argue about, at least for a little while, in the close season I thought we could vote on our Premier League team of the season.

In this thread people can nominate players for any or all positions (we'll be picking a 4-3-3) and I'll then draw up a shortlist for each position based on how many nominations players get and we can put each position to a vote. For CB's and CM's, we'll pick the top 2 or 3 picks for our team. To kick things off I'll list a few obvious candidates for each position:

GK: Alisson, Raya
RB: Trent, James, Walker, Cash
CB: VVD, Matip, Dias, Thiago Silva
LB: Cancelo (you all thought I was going to say Robertson!), Robertson, Cucurella
CM: KDB, Bernardo, Rodri, Ward-Prowse, Gallagher, Maddison
RF: Salah, Bowen
LF: Son, Saka, ASM
CF: Ronaldo, Foden

Coach: Klopp

Gotta have Walker and James in there for RB too. We are so spoilt for choice at RB, it’s nuts!

Foden. I’ll just keep editing this post when I’m pretending to work. :)

I've avoided nominating any players you've already thrown into the mix, Baz, as I'm sure they'll all get plenty anyway.

GK: Raya
RB: James
CB: Matip
LB: Robertson
CM: Bernardo Silva
RF: Bowen
LF: Saka (I know, he's played right more, but they're basically interchangeable right?!)
CF: Foden (squeezing him in slightly, but he's played here a bit!)

There can be plenty of flexibility with the forwards. We could even put them all into one category and take the top 3.

James plays in a back 5 and gets caught out alot, its a no from me personally.

GK: Alisson
RB: Trent
CB: VVD
LB: Robertson
CM: KDB
RF: Salah
LF: Son
CF: Kane

Anyone putting anyone but Salah at RF deserves a bashing.

I see Liverpool fans have become so arrogant that they only pick a team with 8 players. Don't think you need any more to win against most teams eh :p

Alisson
TAA
VVD
Dias
Cancelo
Rodri
KdB
Foden
Son
Kane
Salah

There you go. 11 players. You know, a full team of the season which I would bet on to beat any of the 8 man teams you lot seem to be putting out.

I have been over this once already :p I wasn't picking a team, I was simply nominating 1 player per position to start the ball rolling. Once we have a few nominees for each position I'll then start a vote so we can choose between x and y for whatever role.

I'd choose Matip over VVD, almost as good in defence but far better going forward.

Gallagher also deserves a mention, probably not as good as the players already mentioned but he stood head and shoulders above his teammates this season.

Anymore nominations? I'll start threads to vote on each position after the final game of the season.

If you have Ward-Prowse, you need to include James Maddison, who has more goals and more assists and has been brilliant for us despite it being a difficult season.

Yeah stats wise he's snuck under the radar a bit, never would have believed he's got more goals and assists than prior seasons.

Then again if we go down that route, surely Bowen has to be on the shortlist. 12 goals and double figures for assists.
