So, to simply cancel once contract is up do you still have to do a merry dance? Can I just inform sky via chat and then cancel direct debit?
Just inform them you want to leave, 30 days notice. No need to cancel DD.
Yeah I just used the web chat....although I was fishing for a deal rather than actually cancelling.

Obviously you do miss it if you're going off and downloading content using alternative methods.
You want the content, you don't want to pay for it - so you made the decision to simply stop paying for it. That isn't the choice most people who are deciding if to keep Sky or not go through, that doesn't come into their decision making process.

Yeah if they think i'm paying 8 different subs for TV, they're crazy. So i'm paying for none of them instead.
If people are dumb enough to keep getting extorted for diluted platforms that's up to them.
It cracks me up I was paying dazn 20 canadian and getting all the boxing epl and championsleague.
They have just lost the epl for the next 3 seasons so the first thing they do is up the price to 25.
It's bonkers I remember sky doing the same after losing the championsleague years ago
HBO and Sky have a deal until 2025. By which time they will, I’m sure, not renew and release HBO Max instead.

SKY took the Bundesliga off BT, which I also subbed to, and then proceeded to show 1-2 live games a week, whereas BT were showing anywhere from 5-8. Less content, same price...

Too many streaming platforms now. You need to pay a fortune just to watch a handful of shows you might be interested in.
And the industry wonders why TV piracy has increased 80% over the last 3 years in the UK...

To be fair if you mess around and shop around deals can be had for instance I have 1 years free disney plus because I bought a Galaxy Tab S8 Plus, why would you want to sign up for one streaming service for 1 year when you can binge over a 3 month period its best content then jump ship to another for 3 months.
The only constant for me is I have a Youtube premium account and im starting to lose interest in that, I get free music with it which is fine but Spotify is better but I can do without the spot then 2 or 3 times a year spotify offer me 3 months for a 10er....then I sign up.
I still have a free 6 months apple TV code to use
(just remember to turn off auto renew)

My Sky contract is up next month and I'm looking to cancel it and move to another ISP for Fibre broadband only as I no longer watch their TV services. Netflix,Prime, Freeview and Youtube have me covered these days.
In terms of moving to another Fibre Broadband/Phoneline provider can I just call another ISP like Now and get them to handle the migration or to I need to notify Sky directly? If I cancel my broadband with Sky will this automatically cancel the TV package or will it be separate from the broadband?
Any recommendations as to which ISP to go with from anyone that has had Sky previously? I believe Now are effectively the broadband only version of Sky so I'd thought they might be a good option?

I went with Now as it was cheaper, but never even bothered to swap the router over. Dead same service about £8-10 less P/M.
I did plug the new box in at first for about 2 hours and had some weird issues with them blocking VPN sites as I was looking at getting one at the itme, so I just went back to the SKY box, there's really no need to even bother swapping the router, still on SKY network on TV/PC/Phone etc.
