Clean sweep by the Brits in this event and it felt more like a UFC primetime event than a fight night!

Paddy and Molly though... I cringe hard as soon as they open their mouths, lol! :D

Not quite. Jai Herbert and Mike Grundy got beat. Agree about everything else though.

Great night of fights and what an absolute stand out showcase for UK MMA. First class. Was a super early start for me so didn’t switch on until end f the Herbert fight so can’t speak for the early card but that was brilliant, atmosphere sounded electric.

Looking forward to seeing Paddy’s rise and who he gets next and how Dana manages him. Feel he has a confidence cutting loss coming up though. Aspinal just gets better each time I see him, faultless performance. definitely has the makings of a champ but be interesting to see how he handles the bigger fellas in that division.

I want to see Aspinall vs Gane, that would be an epic matchup! Gane is a bit bigger with his physique but also I feel a little slower and hits with less power than Aspinall.

As for Paddy, I don't like his character and I think he just speaks and behave like a complete idiot both in real-life and on social media, so I would like to see him humbled some time soon to calm the levels of delusion he seems to be experiencing.

I don't know what Paddy gets up to on social media, but I think he's an entertaining character and a good fighter to watch. Every fight the same though, he gets put on his ass in the first few seconds, eats some massive shots, then gets the win. It's pretty remarkable the shots he takes, not only does he stay conscious, but he doesn't get panicked or flustered at all, just gets on with it. Must be quite off-putting for his opponents.

Maybe the stupid barnet absorbs the impact :p

I see Jorge "mental midget" Masvidal attacked Covington last night, wearing a mask and a hoodie he ran up behind him and sucker punched him a couple of times. Then goes online to brag about it? Brag about being a coward thug, well done.

I appreciate Colby talked a bunch of smack but Jorge had his chance and got dominated for 25 minutes.

I read this on Reddit this morning and was like "wtf no way". But lo and behold, the moron actually did do that. Mind-bogglingly stupid. https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2022/mar/22/jorge-masvidal-colby-covington-felony-battery-fight

There’s an element of showmanship in this sport that doesn’t quite exist elsewhere. It’s on fighters to hype themselves up and keep themselves in the public eye as this directly effects who they face, when and how much money they stand to make.
I feel like Masvidal was riding a wave of hype but couldn’t deliver anything on it after the Diaz and Askren wins. Now he is taking a leaf from the Connor playbook, desperate to try and remain relevant in the space by resorting to this kind of thing. Except somehow it works for Connor but Masvidal just looks like a pathetic loser.

Dunno about that. Connor has come across as quite the pathetic loser in a lot of his antics.
That's true but he is still in the conversation about title shots despite looking anything but a convincing challenger last few years, he can still by some degree dictate his terms. He is still PPV box office, is one of the wealthiest sportsmen that ever lived and he has one of them Lamborghini boats. I'd say it was working for him :D

It's hard to relate the two really. McGregor is still a draw and so will Masvidal. Mainly because of previous success has made them both mainstream stars. It didn't stop Tyson becoming a draw either did it? The only thing that does tend to happen is they look more pathetic in the process and then get shown up when they do fight.

Conor is only 33 ( Silva was 38 when he broke his leg ). I think his biggest problem is that everyone knows his best weapons and set ups now, he needs new tools in the bag. As far as media goes.. he needs to keep his head down and train, hopefully he realise that at this point there's only one way and it's down.

Masvidal is at the end of his career and was fortunate to get himself setup well in the twighlight. Going back a few years Masvidal was just a name with a storied history.

This weekend's Fight Night looks a bit of a snoozer but One FC have got their 10th anniversary event, with the penultimate fight being Mighty Mouse vs Rodtang in a 50/50 mixed rules fight (1st and 3rd rounds MMA, 2nd and 4th Muay Thai) which should be fun.

Damn it's like 3 full cards each 4 hours apart. First card starts 5am Sat morning, 2nd 9am, 3rd noon. Nothing next weekend then the April 10th UFC event should be epic as that's got Volkanovski vs Korean Zombie and Chimaev vs Burns on the card (touch wood).

I was aware of ONE FC but never watched any of their events. Watched plenty of Pride and Dream back in the day though. What a strange way to have an event, spread over 3 separate cards. Funny to think Shinya Aoki and Yoshihiro Akiyama are still fighting.
